Privacy:
If you’re concerned with posting a comment of some sort because of the necessity of providing your email address, fear not. In the first place, I probably won’t even notice your email address. And if I do notice it, most likely that means I intend to use it to send you a note regarding something you may have said, something we’ve been discussing on a comment thread, or anything else that may necessitate me sending you a note. I will never, however, use your email address for anything other than that.
Comments:
I have opted to moderate the comments made on this blog, and one of the main reasons for that is simply that I can. I’m not so naive as to think that there are hundreds of people reading my blog every day (and I can prove it, too - there is an administrators’ blog stats page), so there’s no way that there are going to be lots and lots of comments coming in. Perhaps the more important reason for this is that I have no desire for this blog to become a place for harsh, unkind, or overall negative comments to fly. Thus far, I’m happy to say, there have been little to none of those worth mentioning. But in the event that someone should feel the urge to comment in a way that seems a bit nasty, rude, or generally destructively criticizing, I may or may not delete it before it has the chance to land on the post to which it refers.
