Who Where and Why

Matt and Kate LaCava

My wife Kate and I were married on May 25th, 2007, and have been living in Greenville, SC ever since.  Kate is an M.A. student at Converse College in Spartanburg, SC, studying Voice Performance, and I am finishing up my M.S. in Biblical Counseling at Bob Jones University.  Lord willing, I’ll be finished in August of ‘09, and Kate will be finished the following May.  At that point, Lord willing, I will have had the opportunity to become a full-time intern at Heritage Bible Church for a year, and when that is completed, our prayer is to be able to join a new church plant and minister there long-term.  It seems that the Lord is leading us to join a church plant in Brighton, Colorado, where our friends Todd and Carissa Davis and Ryan and Danielle Fisher recently moved.  Until then, however, we are serving here in Greenville, specifically at Heritage, seeking to build up God’s Kingdom for His glory and the for the good of His people.

“Let every thing that has breath praise God.”

One of the reasons I’ve wanted to have a blog for a few years now is to be able to share with as many people as possible what God is teaching me.  Life is all about Who God is, and what He has done, and as His child I want to be able to share with others what He is showing me about Himself and praise Him for how He is at work in my life.  Life is not about us.  It’s about bringing glory to God – knowing Him, loving Him, and serving Him.  One of the ways we bring glory to Him is giving praise to Him in the presence of as many people as is possible.
