Who Where and Why

Matt and Kate LaCava

My wife Kate and I were married on May 25th, 2007, and have been living in Greenville, SC ever since.  Kate is an M.A. student at Converse College in Spartanburg, SC, studying Voice Performance, and I am finishing up my M.S. in Biblical Counseling at Bob Jones University.  I have had the opportunity to serve as a pastoral intern at Heritage Bible Church, and when that is completed, our prayer is to be able to join a new church plant and minister there long-term.  It seems that the Lord is leading us to join a church plant in Brighton, Colorado, where our friends Todd and Carissa Davis and Ryan and Danielle Fisher recently moved.  Until then, however, we are serving here in Greenville, specifically at Heritage, seeking to build up God’s Kingdom for His glory and the for the good of His people.

“Let every thing that has breath praise God.”

Life is all about Who God is, and what He has done.  Life is not about us.  It’s about bringing glory to God – knowing Him, loving Him, and serving Him. The main goal in life is to live in such a way that makes Jesus look as big as He really is – like a telescope does for those of us looking at the stars in the heavens – and one of the best ways to do that is to deliberately and actively praise His name for who He is and what He has done.
